It is art that makes life, makes interest, makes importance and I know of no substitute whatever for the force and beauty of its process.

- Henry James

At Texas School of the Arts, every student in grades kindergarten through 8th receives a broad-based fine arts education that includes exposure to a wide variety of fine arts disciplines and experiences.

Providing an arts education throughout elementary school not only develops young minds artistically, but academically and socially as well. Students are encouraged to explore and engage their creativity through Dance, Music, Theater and Visual Arts.

These young artists express themselves more definitively, articulate more clearly, and tend to have a greater understanding of the world around them than young people who are not exposed to the arts2.
