Natalie Texada
Acting President | CEO

Natalie Texada is Chief Academic Officer (CAO) and Acting President & CEO of Texas Center for Arts + Academics (TCAA). Before becoming CAO, Mrs. Texada operated as Principal of Texas School of the Arts (TeSA), a TCAA elementary charter school offering an arts-based education to artistically gifted children in grades kindergarten through six. She served in this capacity for six years.

In addition to her prior role as TeSA principal, Mrs. Texada was most recently Director of TRIO Upward Bound at Texas Christian University. Previously, she worked with Fort Worth Independent School District as a site supervisor for Fort Worth After School at Sunrise-McMillian Elementary School. Mrs. Texada was instrumental in founding Academy of Performing and Visual Arts (2007-2009), a non-profit organization. Its purpose was to establish an open enrollment charter school.

Her classroom experience includes serving as a Dallas ISD teacher at Thomas Jefferson High School and W.H. Gaston Middle School. An artist herself, Mrs. Texada was a scholarship student and an apprentice with Dance Theatre of Harlem in New York City, as well as a professional dancer. She enjoyed a successful touring career with Dallas Black Dance Theatre.

Mrs. Texada is an education doctoral student at Texas Christian University. She holds a Master of Education degree in educational administration from Texas Christian University, a Master of Fine Arts in dance from the University of Oklahoma, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in ballet performance from the University of Oklahoma. She is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society and currently serves on the Educational Service Center Region 11 Board of Directors as the charter schools representative.
